Fun - Stargazing

Join Jenny and Kay for some star gazing. Jenny will have a celestron telescope set up (May be pointed at the moon or planet) and will show 2 Galileo  student telescopes, which can be obtained for very low cost.   Jenny will use a laser pointer to identify stars and the space station or any Iridium flares that are going by at the time. Participants will be shown how to make their own star maps and use them. Kay will show you how to use a Canadian Space Agency star-counting activity.

Jenny is a Science teacher at Westminster S. S. in London who has used the Smarter Science approach to learning for the past 10 years.

Kay Stephen

Kay Stephen has been a secondary school science teacher for many years and currently works for the Ottawa Catholic School Board. In addition to her classroom work, Kay has been extremely active in other ways.
