Intro 6- Introduction to the Inferencing Model Using Environmental Science

Rick will show how the Experimental Design & Performance (Steps to Inquiry Posters) have been used to design and conduct experiments to confirm an inference rather than a prediction. This approach addresses situations where observations are made without the direct manipulation of variables. The experiences of Thames Valley DSB's grade 9 water quality science project will be shared.  Participants will have the opportunity to start an "infer" project of their own.

Susan Lindsay has taught in a wide variety of areas and grade levels with the Thames Valley District School Board. She is currently a Learning Coordinator for K-6 Science & Technology and Literacy, supporting teachers as they develop inquiry-based learning in their classrooms using Smarter Science.
